In the News

June 2011   Gordon recently attended the Canadian Association of Mortgage Professionals Conference and enjoyed seeing his many friends in the mortgage and financing business,

June 2011  On June 14th Gordon is in the Supreme Court , Appeal Division, where the appeal of the  Davis and Collins matter will be  heard. The issue at the Supreme Court level ,where we were successful, had never been argued in Canada before. Hopefully the Court of Appeal likes our arguments and upholds the decision!

May 2011 another article on the Freedom of Expression case ( section 2(b) Charter of Rights) that Gordon recently  concluded:

Febuary 2011 – Gordon has been preparing for the appeal of a unique case, being the first time in Canada that the issue of “marriage in extremis” has been dealt with. He won the original Nova Scotia Supreme Court case on our clients behalf but we await the appeal. See:

met with various parties over the last month, including His Worship Mayor
Peter Kelly, Megan Leslie, MP, Leonard Preyra MLA, Lorelei Nicoll, HRM
Councilor, More meetings are scheduled.

January 2011 – Gordon was quoted by  the Chronical Herald and on NBC , regarding his experiences as being on the chairlift that had that unfortunate accident at Sugarloaf ,Maine in late December.

January 2011 – Gordon just received the decision in the Davis v Collins matter which involved an issue that was argued for the first time in Canada! Basically did a ‘death bed “type marriage in Trinidad between common law partners, void a previous Nova Scotian will that left all to the former spouse. We represented the new spouse and the Nova Scotia Supreme Court ruled in our clients favour! see:
